Fox contributor nails Antifa ‘sissy boys’

by Sam Rolley

Discussing protests on the University of California at Berkeley campus over a speaking appearance by conservative columnist Ben Shapiro, a Fox News contributor said Friday that college “sissy boys ” are quickly becoming one of the biggest threats to free speech the nation has seen.

Bernie Goldberg, a longtime writer and political pundit, noted that UC Berkeley was forced to shell out $600,000 on law enforcement and security for fear that leftist Antifa protests would turn violent.

The overriding question for me is, how did we get to this point? Things like this don’t happen overnight,” he said.

Goldberg said he believes college leaders throughout the nation are responsible for increasingly anti-speech attitudes on university campuses.

“Faculty members, professors who were once radical students themselves, never condemned this kind of stuff. In some cases, they encouraged it. If somebody in power … had expelled students early on in this ridiculous game and said this is a university, we don’t tolerate this, I don’t think we’d be at this point today,” he said.

Referencing a Los Angeles Times report relaying how the university is offering counseling to students traumatized by Shapiro’s speech, Goldberg said universities are pushing an agenda which is turning a generation of young Americans into adult children.

“In 1944, 18-year-olds, 19-year-old, 20-year-old men and boys, stormed the beaches at normandy. German machine gunners were firing bullets at them, and they went up the beach to free Europe,” he said.

“And now we have 18, 19, 20-year-old young men and women who need mental health therapy if they heard of something they don’t like? This is part of how university presidents and administrators help keep these kids as infants,” Goldberg continued. “They need to grow up. You know what, when they leave college and they pull a stunt like this, I hope their employer throws them out of the office because somebody needs to do that.”

The Fox contributor added that it’s long passed time to dismantle the leftist idea that speech can be considered a form of violence.

“Speech is never violence. Speech may be something the sissy boys on campus might not like. It might hurt their feelings,” he said. “But speech is not violence– and it shows that these leftists are, on top of everything else, they are not too smart.”
